With the weather being particularly bitter and cold recently, many of us have been looking at our skincare routine and finding ways to protect our skin.
The colder temperatures can wreak havoc on our skincare routines, due to dry cold weather outside, and central heating systems, leading to more people going to their local skin therapy clinic for help or looking for stronger moisturising solutions.
It can sometimes be confusing to find the right routine and products for you, so here are some answers to three common skincare questions.
What Should Be In Your Routine?
Skincare lineups do vary between different people, different seasons and different times of day but there are a few products you cannot do without.
In the morning, you are going to need a hydrating moisturiser, antioxidant serum, gentle wash and suncream if you are planning on going out. This provides a mix of gentle cleansing, moisturising, and protection from the elements.
At night repeat your cleans, treat your skin with a retinol product and follow up with a moisturiser.
Where Should You Focus Your Attention?
Most people’s skincare routine focuses on their faces, but do not forget to pay attention to your hands, neck and chest.
Try to keep your whole body moisturised and protected, but the areas above are the key places where signs of ageing are the most prominent
How Often Should You Exfoliate?
This depends on your particular product as well as your skin itself. A general rule of thumb is once or twice a week, although some products are mild enough to be used every day.
